The NSNA Board of Directors proudly established the esteemed Dr. Kenya Williams Breakthrough to Nursing Award, emphasizing her unwavering dedication to fostering Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion within the nursing profession. This award recognizes exceptional individuals who exemplify an unwavering commitment to the Breakthrough to Nursing (BTN) mission within their communities. This prestigious accolade aims to celebrate and honor those who tirelessly champion the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion. As part of this recognition, the deserving recipient will be awarded a $100 prize and a certificate, symbolizing their remarkable contributions to the nursing field.
Each category has a value of 0 – 10 for a total of 50 possible points. Categories are scored based on the following criteria: student resume; letter of support; (including but not limited to, involvement in the community, and advocacy for students or a cause related to NSNA resolution) and completed form.
Please write an essay explaining how this individual supported these goals, advocated, and impacted the BTN community.
Limit one student per Official NSNA scool or state chapter may be nominated.
